FY stands for Film and Youth or Forever Young, according to the organizer. The film festival offers opportunities for filmmakers to introduce their latest films, share their experiences, and get closer to the audience.
In its second season, FY Film Fest offers filmmaking workshops for participants in both HCMC and Hanoi. The top 30 films, selected by a panel of four judges including director Phan Dang Di, director Phan Gia Nhat Linh, and director/actress Hong Anh, will be screened at certain cinemas from September 25 to 27.
The gala night and award ceremony is slated for October 10.
The festival encourages creative works that reflect and explore every aspect of modern life through the lens of confident and enthusiastic young filmmakers.
The total prize value amounts to nearly VND50 million, including a first prize worth VND10 million, a second prize VND8 million and a third prize VND6 million.
There will also be other prizes including special, most favorite film, best actress and best actor, with each worth VND4 million.
The filmmaker with the best animation movie will be entitled to a free cinematography course and a plotter sponsored by the Comic Media Academy Vietnam.
