Search continues for downed Su30 fighter and crew

VTV.vn - A downed Su 30Mk2 fighter jet and its two crew that fell off radar near Hòn Mắt Island about 40km off the coast of Nghe An still have yet to be pinpointed.

Searches in the vicinity where the fighter went missing during a training session at around 8am on June 14 have continued led by deputy head and chief of the staff of Regiment 923, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quang Khai, and pilot Major Nguyen Huu Cuong. Nghe An Border Guard High Command has ordered border guard posts along the shore to ask the local administration and fishermen operating near Hon Mat Island to join the search for the aircraft. Three border guard vessels are searching for the missing plane. Other coastal border guard posts have also readied vehicles and personnel to be deployed when necessary. 

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the Ministry of Defence to mobilise all resources for the search and investigate the cause behind the incident. He also required the ministry to carry out careful checking procedures to ensure the safety of future flights.
