VTV.vn- Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the National Council of science and technology experts took an urgent research trip to determine the cause of mass fish deaths in central VN.

Professor Yoshihiko Yamada is a scientist from Tokai University, Japan, with extensive knowledge in environmental issues. Soon after returning from his trip to central Vietnam with the National Council of science and technology, Professor Yoshihiko cautioned that the search for answers, though urgent, must be thorough and firmly rooted in scientific evidence.

In Japan, mysterious incidents of marine pollution like this have taken scientists months, and even years, to unravel.

"I think scientists can’t find the cause of death in a hasty way. When I had the chance to work with Vietnamese scientists, like Professor Chau Van Minh, I saw that they are very responsible. Hence, we will actively support Vietnamese scientists in their search for the cause of this marine disaster", said Professor Yoshihiko Yamada.

According to the Deputy Minister, Vietnam closely cooperated with foreign scientists from Japan, Germany, France, the USA, and Israel in order to remain objective in data evaluation and enhance accuracy.

Despite the weekend, scientists at Vietnam Academy's Department of Environmental Toxicology Analysis are still hard at work, analysing field samples to find answers as soon as they can.
