Registration was originally expected to only last from June 1 to 30, however, the organizers of Sao Mai 2022 decided to extend it for another two weeks. Therefore, the registration ended on July 15.
According to the organizers of Sao Mai 2022, this year, after a month and a half, the program has received thousands of applications from candidates from all over the country through the saomai.vtv.vn website and the email Tuyenchonsaomai2022@gmail.com .
After the end of the application period, the 2022 Sao Mai Award will move on to the regional selection round in three regions, namely the North, Central and South. The specific timeline for the selection rounds is as follows:
+ Northern Region:
Preliminary rounds: July 26, 27, 28, 2022 at Vietnam Television Station
Regional Qualifiers: August 1, 2022
Location: Vietnam TV Station
+ Central region:
Preliminary rounds: August 1, 2, 3, 2022
Regional Qualifiers: August 5, 2022
Location: Quang Ngai Provincial Labour Culture House
+ South Region:
Preliminary rounds: August 8, 9, 2022
Regional Qualifiers: August 13, 2022
Location: Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
The regional qualifiers for the Sao Mai 2022 contest will be broadcast live on Fanpage Sao Mai VTV, VTVGo and air on the Vietnam TV channel. In addition, the panorama of the regional selection round for Sao Mai 2022 will be recorded in new episodes of "Road to Sao Mai" and broadcast by VTV.
