Sao Mai 2019 allows older contestants to compete to avoid missing talent

Sao Mai 2019 accepts contestants who are Vietnamese and foreigners living in Vietnam or Vietnamese living abroad, who love singing  and aged 17 - 27. Contestants winning the North - Central – South regional and abroad rounds  will be qualified for the 15 finalists to  compete in the national final round in March and April 2019.

Journalist Tran Hong Ha - Deputy Chief of Arts and Culture Department, Vietnam Television said that the criteria of the program is to find the stars of tomorrow, so we could not allow singer of over 27 years of age.

This year, two   new sideline programs for Sao Mai 2019 “Sao Mai Autobiography” and “Sao Mai's Diary” will be broadcast to help the contestants' images to be spread to the public, while also allowing the audience Identify and cheer for their favorite contestants.

Contestants of Sao Mai 2019 will be selected to represent Vietnam in the ABU TV Song Contest - a contest of great and prestigious international stature by the Asian Broadcasting Union.
