Saigon metro train to be in Vietnam in Q2

VTV.vn - The Ho Chi Minh City Management Authority for Urban Railways has revealed the very first images of the Saigon Metro Train which will run on the city's Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro Line 1.

The train, which has carriages made from aluminium alloy, passed its final technical check in Japan and is now ready for delivery to Vietnam. It consists of three carriages and has a total length of over 61 meters.

In the future, the train will be able to have a total of six carriages. It's designed to run at a maximum speed of 110 kilometres per hour and 80 kilometres per hour for overhead roads and road tunnels, respectively.

The train can carry 147 sitting passengers and 783 standing ones. The train is expected to be delivered to Vietnam in the second quarter of this year.
