Russian president visits France for bilateral talks

VTV.vn - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday paid an official visit to France to meet French President Emmanuel Macron in person.

The aim of the meeting is to discuss their bilateral relations and the world's major issues, including Ukraine, Iran and Syria. According to Assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov, the two leaders' meeting is about ways to improve their bilateral relations, which have shown positive signals recently.

The two sides will also discuss other global issues, including Ukraine and the role of the Quaternary Normandy as mediator in Russia's conflict with Ukraine. In addition, the focus of the meeting also includes Syria's crisis, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as well as efforts to combat terrorism and cyber security. This is the first time Russian President Vladimir Putin has paid an official visit to France since President Macron was elected.
