VTV.vn - Flight KE9463 of Korean Air, the biggest airline of the Republic of Korea (RoK), which departed from Incheon International Airport with over 200 passengers on board, landed at Da Nang International Airport on June 22.

The flight marked Korean Air’s resumption of direct flights to Da Nang following the long period of temporary shut down due to COVID-19 pandemic.

A welcome ceremony for the RoK passengers was held at T2 Terminal at Da Nang Airport.

Following the flight, Korean Air has begun operating charter flights to Da Nang with a frequency of two flights per week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, to meet the increasing needs of passengers.

The carrier plans to operate one regular flight per day on the route from July 27, 2022.

According to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, direct working sessions between Da Nang City’s leaders and representatives of major international airlines within the framework of the Asia Routes Development Forum 2022 are having a positive impact on the resumption of flights to the central city.

He expressed his belief that the return of the Korean Air will have a positive impact on the recovery of the leading tourist market of Da Nang.
