VTV.vn - The Robotics Connect conference is expected to become an annual forum in conjunction with Robocon, aiming to promote academic values tied closely to practical applications.

On the morning of June 9 in Ninh Binh City, the conference “Robotics Connect – Fostering Innovation and Career Opportunities” took place with lively discussions and significant interest from experts, businesses, and students alike. The event was held in conjunction with the final round of Robocon Vietnam 2025, aiming to foster connections among schools, businesses, and the labor market in the fields of robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI).

A Bridge Between Creative Ideas and Career Realities

With representatives from Vietnam Television, leaders of Ninh Binh Province, technical universities, academies, and significant technology companies in attendance, the conference not only served as a platform for sharing in-depth knowledge but also connected market demands with the young generation of engineering students.

Amid Vietnam’s ongoing push for industrialization and modernization,  as emphasized in  Resolution 57, which  prioritizes breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, unleashing creative potential and creating job opportunities for the youth is paramount.

Robotics Connect featured in-depth presentations from universities and technical colleges, as well as practical insights from reputable businesses. The event  exposed students  to the latest trends, labor market expectations, and, more importantly, internship and job opportunities. It also provided a platform for companies to discover promising talent from Robocon teams.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television and Head of the Robocon Vietnam 2025 Organizing Committee, emphasized that Robotics Connect is a space where academic innovations meet real-world manufacturing needs. It also demonstrates Robocon’s role in identifying, nurturing, and connecting high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s industrial development.

The Organizing Committee hopes that the Robotics Connect seminar will become an annual forum held alongside the Robocon competition. Its goal is to bring together experts and university representatives   participating in Robocon, as well as members of the  public interested in   robotics and AI. Together, they will engage in discussions that contribute to Vietnam's development in the new era.

Robocon – An “Open Laboratory” for Engineering Students

Now in its 23rd year, Robocon Vietnam has evolved into a hands-on learning platform for engineering students. Participating universities, such as Lac Hong University, Sao Do University, and Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, have seen concrete results. Students not only apply what they learn to build robots but also improve their job prospects, while schools boost their reputation and expand  their industry connections.

The seminar attracts significant interest from numerous experts, businesses, and students.

Some schools have developed startup models based on Robocon ideas, gradually commercializing robots for production and logistics. A representative from Lac Hong University, a multiple-time winner of the Asia-Pacific Robocon, stated that their institution views Robocon as a vital platform and encourages all students to participate in it. Outstanding Robocon results can even be used as part of graduation assessments.

Thanks to the valuable knowledge and experience gained from the competition, many students have become top-tier job candidates and have been recruited by multinational and leading domestic corporations, with ample career advancement opportunities.

Keeping Pace with Emerging Technologies in the AI Era

As a pioneer in scientific research and innovation, Hanoi University of Science and Technology presented an impressive demonstration of a bipedal robot and its real-world industrial applications.

Meanwhile, the Military Technical Academy showcased advanced research on machine learning and autonomous navigation systems, which are key components in future innovative transportation ecosystems.

Not only is the Military Technical Academy a prestigious institution in technical education, but it is also home to some of the strongest Robocon teams of this season. Their impressive performances  during the preliminary round and the opening matches of the Robocon Vietnam 2025 finals are clear evidence of this.

Representatives from universities and academies share insights on emerging technology trends and impressive engineering solutions at the seminar.

Phenikaa University, a dynamic institution offering numerous programs in technology and engineering, presented a paper at the seminar on the application of image processing technology in the orientation and control of industrial robots.

At the seminar, a representative from Sao Do University introduced breakthroughs in ultra-thin metal welding technology, which enables the joining of thin and ultra-thin metal sheets with thicknesses of less than 0.03 mm. This  technology can be used with both    homogeneousand  heterogeneous materials such as copper alloys, aluminum, and superconducting materials. As a result, the system can be easily integrated into production lines at various enterprises, offering outstanding efficiency in processing products related to thin metal sheets.

Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, the champion of Robocon Vietnam 2024, also participated in the seminar and presented a paper on object detection techniques and their practical applications.

Unlimited Opportunities for Technology Students

A highlight of this year’s conference was the participation of leading companies, including Rang Dong, VNPT AI, and PVcomBank. These firms  not only shared l share labor market insights, but also actively engaged with students in Q&A sessions.

Mr. Nguyen Doan Ket, Deputy CEO of Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company, said: “We urgently need young engineers who can integrate AI and robotics into smart manufacturing processes. Today’s event is a golden opportunity for companies like us to ‘place orders’ directly with universities”.
