The week 3 - month 3 - quarter 3 contest of Road to Olympia Mount featured a race among four contestants: Phan Duy Hung (Son Tay High School - Hanoi), Tran Ho Thien Nhan (Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School - Nghe An), Nguyen Thanh Trung (Luong The Vinh High School - Dong Nai), and Dieu Tu (Ngo Quyen High School - Hai Phong).
The first contestant to take the Individual Warm-up round was Thien Nhan, who scored the initial 40 points. Dieu Tu scored 10 points, Duy Hung scored 30 points, and Thanh Trung also scored 40 points.
The competition intensified in the 12-question the General Warm-up round . After the first three questions went unanswered, Dieu Tu scored 10 points with the fourth question. The competition became more intense as the contestants focused on scoring. After the round, the scores were: Duy Hung and Thanh Trung with 30 points each, Dieu Tu with 15 points, and Thien Nhan leading with 60 points.
The keyword for today’s Overcome Obstacle round was a six-letter word. The first question stumped all contestants. Thien Nhan, Duy Hung, and Thanh Trung answered correctly and earned points for the second question.
When the MC started reading the third question, Duy Hung buzzed in and correctly guessed the obstacle word as "Red Book". This put him in the lead with 80 points. However, Thien Nhan closely followed with 70 points, Thanh Trung with 40 points, and Dieu Tu with 15 points.
The Speed Up round is highly competitive and can quickly change the leaderboard. All four contestants answered correctly in the first question, with Dieu Tu being the fastest and earning 40 points. He also answered the second question correctly,, but Duy Hung was the quickest. The competition heated up as all contestants gave their best.
By the end of the Speed Up round, the scores had dramatically changed. Duy Hung led with 210 points, Thanh Trung was tied with Thien Nhan with 130 points, and Dieu Tu had 75 points.
In the Finish round, Duy Hung chose a set of three 20-point questions. After missing the first question, he regained composure and scored 20 points on the second. Although he didn’t answer the third question correctly, he maintained his lead as no other contestants buzzed in.
Next, Thien Nhan chose a set of 30 - 20 - 20 point questions. She confidently scored 30 points on the first history question but didn’t score on the next two. Duy Hung got 20 points on her last question.
Thanh Trung also chose a 30 - 20 - 20 point set. He excelled in the chemistry question and finished with 170 points.
Dieu Tu, the last contestant, chose a 20 - 30 - 30 point set. Thanh Trung buzzed in first and correctly answered the first question, earning 20 points from Dieu Tu. However, he lost 15 points on the second question. He continued and answered the third math question right, raising his score to 205, and making him the highest-scoring runner-up.
Thus, Duy Hung won the laurel wreath with 250 points. Thien Nhan scored 140 points, Dieu Tu 25 points, and Thanh Trung 205 points. Both Duy Hung and Thanh Trung will advance to the Monthly Contest.
