The Week 2, March, Quarter II competition of Road to Olympia Mount 2026 unfolded with intense and dramatic moments, featuring a fierce contest among four contestants: Nguyen Ba Tai Anh (Hoai Duc A High School, Hanoi), Phan Hoang Trung (Nguyen Chi Thanh High School for the Gifted, Lam Dong), Nguyen Ngoc Sang (Son La High School for the Gifted), and Dang Cao Phuc (Nguyen Xuan On High School, Nghe An).
In the Warm-up round, each contestant took their turn, with all four – Ngoc Sang, Hoang Trung, Tai Anh, and Cao Phuc - started on an equal footing and earning 30 points each.
In the General Warm-up round, the standings began to shift. By the end of this round, Ngoc Sang took the lead with 50 points, while Hoang Trung and Tai Anh were tied on 25 points, and Cao Phuc remained on 30 points.
Moving on to the Overcome Obstacle round, the eight-letter keyword was quickly uncovered. Right after the first horizontal clue was revealed, Ngoc Sang rang the bell and answered “Le Quy Don”. This correct answer allowed him to surge ahead, raising his total score to 110 points. By the end of this round, Ngoc Sang was still in first place, followed by Cao Phuc on 30 points, while Hoang Trung and Tai Anh remained on 25 points.
The Speed-up round saw further breakthroughs in scoring. Ngoc Sang maintained his impressive performance, increasing his total to 220 points. Cao Phuc followed with 80 points, Tai Anh reached 75 points, and Hoang Trung stood at 55 points.
In the Finish round, Ngoc Sang chose a set of three 20-point questions. However, he failed to score on the first question, achieving only 20 points on the second, and missed the final opportunity.
Next, Cao Phuc selected a 20-20-20 set but lost points to Ngoc Sang on the very first question. He did not score on the second question either, and despite using his Star of Hope on the final question, he was unable to score.
When it was Tai Anh's turn, he chose a 20-30-20 set but missed both the first two questions and was unable to capitalize on the opportunity. Ngoc Sang once again earned points on the first question, raising his total to 280. On the final question, Tai Anh used his Star of Hope but failed to score on the English question.
As the last contestant, Hoang Trung opted for a set of three 20-point questions. He made a strong comeback by answering the final two questions correctly, securing second place overall.
At the end of the competition, Ngoc Sang officially claimed the laurel wreath with 270 points. He was followed by Hoang Trung with 95 points, Cao Phuc with 30 points, and Tai Anh with 25 points. This victory was well-deserved for a contestant who performed consistently throughout all rounds.
