This week's episode of Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Nguyen Hoang Phuc An (Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted), Nguyen Gia Minh (Bien Hoa High School for the Gifted), Nguyen Truong Giang (Nguyen Binh Khiem High School), and Tran Nhat Minh (Cao Ba Quat High School). Each contestant brought unique strengths to the highly competitive battle of knowledge.
In the Individual Warm-up round, Phuc An quickly gained an advantage with 50 points. Gia Minh and Truong Giang followed closely behind with 40 points each, while Nhat Minh collected 30 points and remained within striking distance.
During the General Warm-up round, Phuc An maintained his momentum, increasing his total to 80 points and retaining first place. Gia Minh improved to 60 points, while Nhat Minh and Truong Giang both finished the round with 45 points.
The Overcome Obstacle round required contestants to identify a five-letter keyword. The program revealed the second clue and the related puzzle piece. Nhat Minh confidently rang the bell with the answer “cicada” (Ve sau). Despite some hesitation, he committed to his choice. His correct answer earned him valuable points, propelling him to the top of the leaderboard with 105 points. Phuc An followed with 90 points, Gia Minh had 80 points, and Truong Giang had 65.
The Speed-up round intensified the competition, causing the rankings to shift repeatedly. Gia Minh surged ahead after delivering quick and accurate responses to the first two questions.
However, Nhat Minh later regained the lead, ending the round with 165 points. Gia Minh remained just five points behind with 160 points. Meanwhile Phuc An had 120 points and Truong Giang 105 points, setting the stage for a dramatic Finish round.
Nhat Minh entered the Finish round first with a 20-20-20 point question package. He answered the first two questions correctly, adding 40 points to his score. However, Gia Minh successfully stole the final question, collecting another 20 points and keeping the race extremely close.
Gia Minh then selected a 20-20-30 point package. Demonstrating his strength in science subjects, he answered the first two questions correctly and moved into first place. However, he failed to answer the final 30-point question, allowing Phuc An to steal the points.
Phuc An chose a 20-30-20 point package. After losing points on the opening question to Truong Giang, he responded strongly. He successfully used the Star of Hope on the 30-point question. Then he answered the final English-language question correctly, moving from a chasing position into the lead before the final contestant took the stage.
All eyes were on Truong Giang, who entered the decisive round with a 20-30-30 point package. The Hai Phong student answered the first two questions correctly, significantly narrowing the gap. On the final question, he boldly activated the Star of Hope. His correct answer completed a stunning comeback, lifting him into first place and securing the Olympia wreath.
After a contest filled with momentum swings and leaderboard changes, Truong Giang emerged victorious with 235 points. Phuc An finished second with 210 points, Gia Minh placed third with 190 points, and Nhat Minh ended the competition with 185 points.
The dramatic surge in the closing moments allowed the Hai Phong schoolboy to deliver one of the most memorable comebacks of the season on Road to Olympia Mount.
