This week’s episode of Road to Olympia Mount featured a dramatic, high-energy, and breakthrough-filled competition, with four contestants hailing from various regions across Vietnam: Le Hong Minh (Cho Don High School, Thai Nguyen), Nguyen Hai Trung (FPT High School, Hai Phong), Nguyen Minh Tri (Dewey Secondary-High School Tay Ho Tay, Hanoi), and Pham Bao Nam (Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted, Dong Nai). From the very first questions, were drawn into intense head-to-head battles, showcasing each contestant’s determination to succeed.
The Individual Warm-up round unfolded quickly and decisively. Hong Minh opened the match but scored only 10 points. Trung Hieu entered confidently, answering two questions correctly to score 20 points. Minh Tri got off to a stronger start, achieving 40 points. However, the most impressive performance came from Bao Nam, who answered five out of six questions correctly to secure 50 points, an display that foreshadowed his consistent form throughout the competition.
In the General Warm-up round, the contestants continued to compete fiercely for points. Bao Nam maintained his focus and surged into the lead with 105 points. Minh Tri remained steady with 65 points, while Trung Hieu followed with 35 points and Hong Minh held onto his initial 10 points. Although the gap began to widen, yet the match atmosphere still held plenty of potential for a comeback.
This week’s Overcome Obstacle was a short but tricky test, with the vertical keyword consisting of only three letters. As soon as the first horizontal clue was revealed, both Bao Nam and Trung Hieu. Bao Nam won the right to answer first and correctly identified the keyword as “Bamboo” (tre), further extending his lead. After this round, the scores remained as follows: Hong Minh with 10 points; Trung Hieu, 45 points; Minh Tri, 60 points; and Bao Nam far ahead with 165 points, a daunting figure for the remaining competitors.
The results of the Speed-up round are as follows: Hong Minh scored 20 points; Minh Tri, 130 points; Trung Hieu, 175 points; and Bao Nam remained in the lead with 255 points.
The Finish round pushed the tension to its peak. Bao Nam chose the 20-20-20 point package and answered all three questions correctly, raising his score to 315 and establishing a commanding lead. Trung Hieu delivered an emotional performance, answering a 30-point English question correctly but losing points on the first question, finishing with 165 points. Minh Tri struggled, especially after using the Star of Hope, and answered incorrectly, enabling Hong Minh to gain ground. Hong Minh, the final contestant, also chose the Star of Hope on the last question but was unsuccessful.
At the conclusion of the match, the final scores were Hong Minh with 10 points; Trung Hieu, 185 points; Minh Tri, 140 points, and the convincing champion, Phạm Bao Nam, with 335 points. With steady performance, quick thinking, and composure in crucial moments, Bao Nam claimed the weekly laurel of Road to Olympia Mount in a truly outstanding and well-deserved victory.
