Road to Olympia Mount Week 3 – March – Quarter 2 welcomed four talented contestants: Luu Van Kien (Hung Vuong Specialized High School – Gia Lai), Vu Hieu (Vinh Gia 1 Specialized High School – Thanh Hoa), Hoang Tien Dat (Luc Ngan High School – Bac Giang), and Hoang Xuan Loc (Quoc Oai High School – Hanoi).
Contestants in the Individual Warm-Up round
In the Individual Warm-Up round, Van Kien was the first to answer 3 out of 6 questions correctly, earning 30 points. Vu Hieu gained 40 points, Tien Dat 20 points, and Xuan Loc also scored 40 points.
After the General Warm-Up round, the scores changed significantly. Xuan Loc led with 90 points, Van Kien had 50, while both Tien Dat and Vu Hieu were tied with 40 points.
The group Warm-Up round of the 4 contestants
This week’s Overcome Obstacle challenge was a horizontal 7-letter word puzzle .On the first question, none of the four contestants could find the answer. By the second question, with the answer "TO" and the first image tile revealed, all four immediately hit the buzzer and answered "Dong Son".
All four contestants ring the bell and give the same answer.
Although this was the common answer, it was not the correct one. The right to answer was then passed to the live audience, who offered guesses like "Van Lang", "Lac Hong", and "Lac Viet" before the correct answer, "Hung Kings" was finally given and confirmed by the show.
The correct answer wis "Hung Kings", with the Dong Son drum being a representative artifact of the Hung Kings era.
After an unlucky Overcome Obstacle round for the contestants, the Speed-up round became an opportunity for them to show their speed and knowledge. After this round, there was a clearer difference in the scores: Vu Hieu had 70, Tien Dat 120, Van Kien 140, and Xuan Loc remained in the lead with 230 points.
Xuan Loc confidently steps into the Finishing round while in the lead.
Van Kien calmly selects the 20-20-20 question package.
Vu Hieu boldly chooses the 30-30-30 package and placed his hope star on the first question.
Tien Dat also makes great efforts in his turn.
Xuan Loc entered the Finish round, choosing three 20-point questions. Unfortunately, luck was not on his side, and after three questions, his total dropped to 210 points as he answered only one correctly, giving other contestants a chance to steal.
Vu Hieu then took his turn. Remaining calm, he raised his score to 200 – tying with the highest runner-up. However, after the rounds of Tien Dat and Van Kien, his score dropped to 180, leaving him with deep regret. Tien Dat finished his round with 90 points, and Vu Hieu’s final score was 60.
Thus, Xuan Loc from Quoc Oai High School - Hanoi is the only contestant to advance to the March – Quarter 2 Monthly Round this week. In addition, the highest-scoring runner-up across the weekly competitions, Tran Tuan Kiet from Quang Tri Town High School, will also continue hisjourney in the 25th season of Road to Olympia Mount.
