The third-month contest of the third quarter of the 24th year of Road to Olympia Mount featured four contestants: Vi Duc Dung (Bac Giang Specialized High School), Phan Duy Hung (Son Tay High School - Hanoi), Vien Vinh Lac (Ben Tre Specialized High School), and Nguyen Thanh Trung (Luong The Vinh Specialized High School - Dong Nai).
In the Individual Warm-up round, Duc Dung, Duy Hung, and Vinh Lac each scored 40 points, while Thanh Trung lagged behind with 10 points. After the General Warm-up round, Duc Dung took the lead with 80 points, followed by Vinh Lac with 60 points. Duy Hung remained with 40 points, and Thanh Trung had 15 points.
Entering the Overcome Obstacle round, no contestant got the first question right, leaving the puzzle piece unopened. The second question was answered correctly by all contestants except Duy Hung. Duc Dung rang the bell to answer the obstacle but got it wrong.
After the third question went unanswered, the four contestants faced the final question, hoping to reveal another puzzle piece. Both Thanh Trung and Duy Hung rang the bell to answer, but only Duy Hung gave the right answer, bringing his score to 70 points, tying with Vinh Lac. Thanh Trung had 25 points, while Duc Dung led with 90 points.
The Speed Up round was crucial for contestants to increase their scores and distance themselves from their competitors. Duy Hung started well, matching Duc Dung's score. As the round progressed, the contestants continued to provide the right answers, but the one with the fastest answers gained the most advantage. Finally, Duy Hung broke through with 180 points. Thanh Trung was second with 155 points, Duc Dung had 160 points, and Vinh Lac was third.
In the Finish round, Duy Hung, with the highest score, went first. He maintained his cautious strategy of "better be correct than fast", finishing with 200 points.
Duc Dung followed, choosing a set of two 20-point questions and one 30-point question. He answered the first question correctly but struggled with the second physics question, which was quite challenging. When he answered the third question incorrectly, Duc Dung lost his lead. Neither Thanh Trung nor Vinh Lac made significant breakthroughs in their final rounds.
In the end, Duy Hung emerged as the winner of the third-month contest of the third quarter, winning the laurel wreath and securing a place in the quarterfinals, giving his school the chance to host a live broadcast.
