The upgrade marks the first time Vietnam has entered the Investment Grade category. R&I cited Vietnam’s strong economic growth, prospects for structural reforms, fiscal space, and resilience to external shocks.
The agency expects growth to remain strong, supported by productivity and innovation, public investment, and foreign direct investment. It also noted relatively low public debt, a current account surplus, and sustained FDI inflows as factors strengthening Vietnam’s economic resilience
