The revenue of goods was reported at over 2.8 trillion VND, accounting for 77.3% of the total revenue, up 7.4% over the same period last year, with food and foodstuff sales up 10.7%, household appliances up 11.1%, garments up 9.1%, vehicles up 3.4% and cultural and educational products up 11.2%.
In the first seven months of 2024, retail sales of goods in some localities saw high increases, such as Quang Ninh up 10.2%, Da Nang up 7.8%, Can Tho up 7.6%, Hanoi up 6.6%, and Ho Chi Minh City up 6.3%, over the same period last year.
The revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first seven months of this year was posted at 419.2 trillion VND, up 15.2% over the corresponding period last year.
Meanwhile, the revenue from tourism was estimated at 35.2 trillion VND, a rise of 31.8% over the same period last year, which is attributed to the favourable visa policy and tourism promotion programmes, according to the GSO.
The revenue from other services in the first seven months of 2024 reached 370.2 trillion VND, up 9.4% over the same period last year.
In July alone, the total revenue of retail sales of goods and services stood at 528.3 trillion VND, an increase of 9.4% against the same period in 2023.
