VTV.vn - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said the task of caring, educating & protecting children in the new situation is becoming more complicated, requiring functional sectors to innovate thinking and action to keep up with the requirements of society

The Vice President made the remarks at a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children held in Hanoi on April 29.

Vo Thi Anh Xuan who is also President of the National Fund for Vietnamese Children emphasised that child care, education and protection are a fine tradition of our nation and a top priority goal in the national socio-economic development strategy and the national human resource development strategy.

She proposed that the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs continue to direct and implement policies related to children, especially children in special circumstances so that they can approach support policies of the Party and State.

The National Fund for Vietnamese Children, established on May 4, 1992, is the only fund of the State having the function of mobilising voluntary contributions of agencies, organisations and individuals, foreign aid, and the state budget to realise goals for children prioritised by the State.

The Vice President praised the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and benefactors for supporting millions of disadvantaged children over the past 30 years, including children with disabilities and children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On this occasion, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children received donations worth over 11 billion VND (479,000 USD) from organisations and individuals to support children in extremely difficult circumstances.
