Speaking at the press conference, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy (Tita Thy Nguyen), Chief Representative of WEC Vietnam said that the WEC is a global energy agency recognised by the United Nations to represent all forms of energy, and is also a strategic partner of a number of key organisations in the energy sector. The WEC has more than 3,000 member organisations including WEC National Committees in nearly 100 countries around the world. The WEC hosts the World Energy Congress triennially.
The 26th World Energy Congress will take place from April 22 to 25 in Rotterdam (Netherlands). This is an important time to affirm global efforts to rebuild energy sources in the world as well as each region and territory. The congress also features the participation of leaders of member states on energy policy.
Vietnam is trying to realise its ambition of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. This requires high determination and efforts as well as the mobilisation of all resources for development investment and social security in all fields.
Through the press conference, WEC Vietnam hoped that individuals and organisations in Vietnam will register to participate in the programme and join the Global Energy network to introduce cultural and tourism products, services, and technology to the world and seek opportunities to call for investment cooperation as well as share and learn effective energy management policies and measures from other countries in the network.
Specifically, Vietnamese businesses will have the opportunity to access the latest trends in the energy sector, global financial resources, and safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly energy.
Also on the occasion, WEC Vietnam launched a series of projects themed “Enternal green – Offsetting carbon footprint”, including many programmes such as communications of carbon credit, carbon trading floor, and global carbon credit community; joining the 1 billion trees movement to reverse the global climate crisis; a city-level green transformation project; a hydrogen application research project; and the community project of “Vietnam Green Journey” to propagate and advise the community to create social impact and promote the dual energy transition process towards the national goal of Net-Zero by 2050.
