The programme was co-organised by Tien Phong Newspaper, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the National Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The event aims to encourage and mobilise students, as well as young people across the country to actively respond to blood donation activities, in order to save lives, share drops of red blood, strive to heal and bring hope of life to the sick.
By the end of January 16, there were 33 blood donation points held over 20 provinces and cities, with around 15,362 units of blood donated.
According to the organising board, this year's "Red Sunday" is deployed throughout 40 provinces and cities across the country, with hundreds of blood donation points, expecting to receive 45 to 50 thousand units of blood.
