Currently, 17 out of 29 provinces and cities have registered to participate in the event, with total blood donations so far at nearly 14,000 units.
The Red Sunday Festival in Đa Nang City received more than 1,000 young participants. Last year in the city alone, more than 25,000 units of blood were donated. This year, several young participants even donated blood 3 to 5 times. Currently, Đa Nang City has 20 blood volunteer organizations. In Can Tho City, more than 700 youth union members and officers participated in Red Sunday.
This activity is also aimed at spreading the voluntary blood donation movement, ensuring the supply of emergency blood, and dealing with blood shortage during the Lunar New Year. Red Sunday will continue to take place until January 21st in major cities around Vietnam including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Đa Nang City.
