VTV.vn - In May 1968, envoys from North Vietnam and the United States held their first Peace Talks in Paris.

This marked the beginning of Vietnam's longest and toughest diplomatic fight, which led to the Paris Peace Accords and eventually the end of the war. The State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam recently purchased the copyrights of rare materials and videos in order to help the Vietnamese people have a comprehensive understanding of its journey to restore peace.

The talk also mentioned the failed mission of US military forces to rescue imprisoned pilots in Hanoi in 1970. The People's Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam had conducted successful tasks to set prisoners free.
