Rail freight enhanced

This is considered as an important step to concretize the common goals of ASEAN since Vietnam has become a member. The signing opens a new stage of development in container shipping route for both countries as well as relieves the pressure on road transportation.

The railway system will reduce transit times by a third compared to road freight. The agreement outlined the use and management of containers as well as the establishment of agencies for one another in each country. Both parties will also co-operate to deliver transit containers through Asia and Europe to get the most competitive prices.
