Raft race held in Ha Giang province

he event gathered together 31 teams, who  competed in a 600m race and 1200m finale.

The floating raft is a commonly-used means of transportation by the locals for transporting goods and people. It is typically made from traditional materials like bamboo and rattan.

The race is a highlight event of the seven-time tourism programme, “Through Viet Bac Heritage Sites”, which draws the participation of six provinces in the Viet Bac region, including Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang. The program is held to enhance relations among localities, as well as serve as a catalyst for attracting tourists and investors in the region.
