Over a thousand hectares of rice fields were damaged. Local farmers began returning to work on the third lunar Tet day to sow seeds on damaged fields.
Warmer weather in the first days of the lunar month has made work easier in the field. The provincial department of agriculture and rural development sent officers to help the farmers with proper preventive solutions for rice and vegetables against the cold. It is estimated that the province’s rice cultivation this spring will reach 25 thousand hectares. The province has drafted plans for possible measures against imminent pests and drought.
