According to Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, it also aims to commemorate martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and reunification, and war victims.
The event spreads the message of strong vitality, patriotism, love for peace, friendship and cooperation for the development of the Vietnamese people, thereby joining hands with international friends in building and safeguarding sustainable peace for nations and peoples worldwide.
Many significant cultural, art performance, sporting, and tourism events will take place in July, helping Quang Tri become not only a cultural space and destination for peace but also a redez-vous for peace-loving friends around the world, he said.
The festival is expected to contribute to promoting Quang Tri's potential for tourism development and investment, thus boosting sustainable socio-economic development in the locality and neighbouring regions, he added.
