Quang Ninh ready for ASEAN Tourism Forum 2019

The remark was made by the Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Long. Quang Ninh province has actively coordinated to deploy very early assignments according to the assigned functions and tasks, he added.

The hosting the ATF 2019 is expected to open opportunities for cooperation and promote the beauty of the people, countries and cultures in the region to international friends.

The forum will feature the participation of 2,000 delegates, including the Minister in charge of tourism of ASEAN and partner countries, international organisations and state management agencies in tourism in and outside the ASEAN region, tourism businesses, hotels, airlines, news agencies and newspapers.

The ATF, established in 1981, is a regional effort to promote ASEAN as one tourist destination. The annual event involves all of the tourism industry sectors of the 10 member states.

This year, the event will also include India, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Russia and China.

Its main activities include the ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meetings, ASEAN Tourism Conference, Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) and tours discovering UNESCO-recognised world natural heritage Ha Long Bay and neighbouring destinations.

Through the activities of the ATF, the event will promote the common beauty of the member countries and each nation’s identity.

The ATF will boost ASEAN countries as a single, multifaceted destination, and a competitive and attractive tourist destination.

This year’s opening ceremony will take place on January 16, 2019. The closing ceremony will combine with the closing ceremony of National Tourism Year 2018 - Ha Long - Quang Ninh, taking place on January 18, 2019, at the Ha Long FLC Resort, Ha Long City.
