VTV.vn - After taking time for the Tet holiday with family, the fishermen of Binh Chau Commune Fishing Association in Quang Ngai Province have returned to their work in the Paracel and Spratly Archipelagoes.

This is a preparation ceremony for the first catch of the year organised by Binh Chau Commune Fishing Association. Each fisherman strives to keep responsibility of their traditional fishing fields. 158 large-capacity fishing vessels from Binh Chau commune are getting ready for the new season.

"For the New Year, we strive to stick to the Paracel and Spratly archipelagoes, with the hope of a successful fishing season." - Huynh Van Dan, Binh Chau Commune, Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province.

"I feel so confident and excited about the preparations for the first catch." - Vo Luc, Binh Chau Commune, Binh Son District, Quang Ngai Province.

There are 432 fishing vessels in Binh Chau Commune, with a total capacity of more than 77,000 horsepower, catching more than 16,200 tons in 2015. Accordingly, the commune is determined to stick to the sea, and achieve high efficiency in 2016.

"On the occasion of the New Year, the commune organises the ceremony of the first catch. The purpose is to encourage the fishermen to have a year of fishing with the highest efficiency." - Le Van Nguyen, Party Secretary, Binh Chau Commune, Quang Ngai Province.

After the ceremony, these fishing vessels will head to the Paracel and Spratly Archipelagoes with the hope of a good harvest season in 2016.

1,720 fishermen in Binh Chau commune are getting ready for the new fishing season. Although there are numerous difficulties, they continue to stick to their fishing fields, with the hope that the New Year will bring a bumper catch.
