Their work is not just a duty, but a noble mission, carried out with compassion and unwavering dedication.
In honor of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam Doctor’s Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2025), “Proud Melodies – Where the Light Never Fades” serves as a tribute to the silent yet profound contributions of doctors and medical workers—those devoted "white-coated warriors" who have dedicated their lives to the health and well-being of the community.

Hosted by MC Duc Bao and MC Hong Nhung, the program will take viewers through moving accounts of complex surgeries, life-and-death struggles, and remarkable medical achievements in Vietnam. A highlight of the show is the historic simultaneous heart and liver transplant at VietDuc University Hospital, a groundbreaking milestone for Vietnamese medicine in 2024.
With the participation of leading medical experts, including Dr. Duong Duc Hung – Director of VietDuc University Hospital, Dr. Ninh Viet Khai – Deputy Director of the Organ Transplant Center at VietDuc University Hospital, and Master of Medicine, Dr. Tran Ha Phuong – Head of the Organ Transplant Consultation and Coordination Unit. These guests will share groundbreaking surgeries, humanistic stories, and the tireless efforts of the medical professionals in treating patients.

The program will also feature Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri – the founder of the voluntary blood donation movement. As one of the most influential figures in Vietnam's hematology and blood transfusion field, Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri has worked tirelessly for over 40 years to lay a solid foundation for the national blood transfusion system. He initiated two of the largest voluntary blood donation campaigns in Vietnam – the Spring Festival (Le hoi Xuan Hong) and the Red Journey (Hanh trinh Do), which helped raise social awareness and transformed voluntary blood donation into a widespread movement. Under his leadership, the blood transfusion system has not only ensured adequate supply but also maintained high quality, saving hundreds of thousands of patients across the country.
The most emotional moment of the talk was when Nguyen Thi Thu Huong – a patient who had suffered from thalassemia (a genetic blood disorder) – took the stage. She has been connected to the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion since 2011 and has gone through critical periods due to blood shortages.
With a trembling voice, Huong recalled the times when Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri personally encouraged her and taught her how to take care of her health while waiting for donated blood. He was not only a doctor, but also a source of hope, giving patients like Huong the strength to overcome illness. The moment she gave him a box of Hai Duong green bean cakes, a simple gift but filled with deep gratitude, the entire audience fell silent with emotion. Once again, Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri affirmed that his contributions are not just reflected in numbers or achievements, but in every life he has touched and revived.
