Promoting tourism on TV

VTV.vn - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Television signed an agreement on Tuesday to promote the country’s tourism on national and some international channels.

The agreement finalises the recent instruction of the prime minister which aims to foster the growth of the Vietnamese tourism.

According to the agreement, a series of new TV programmes dedicated to Vietnamese tourism will be launched on World Tourism Day on September 27th. Entitled VTVTrip – Travel together with VTV, the series focus on depicting attractive Vietnamese tourism to both domestic and foreign visitors. The shows will be produced by a film crew under the supervision of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

"Media is among very important channels to promote tourism. It’s high time we used it to promote Vietnamese tourism", Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said.

"The new shows will be produced in a more professional manner. Our aim is through each show visitors feel inspired to discover new destinations. And we hope this will have a good impact on bettering tourist services", Mr. Tran Binh Minh - VTV General Director - said.

The programme will subsidised by the Sun Group during its start phase. After the signing ceremony, Vietnam Television also officially launched the VTVTrip.vn website for holiday bookings.
