According to the resolution, the government asked the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, in cooperation with state agencies and local authorities, to carry out thorough assessments of the environmental impact caused by investment projects.
Authorities must not grant investment licences to unqualified projects, even if they may have huge economic benefits. The government also ordered local authorities and state agencies to review all factories with high potential for pollution and carry out timely solutions.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Finance have also been asked to propose policies to support people affected by the recent mass fish deaths in the central region.
