The programme has been organised annually since 2008, to recognise collectives and individuals with remarkable contributions to the organisation of blood donation events, as well as to the maintenance of a stable base of regular and voluntary blood donors.
Over its 15 editions, the programme has awarded 71 people and 160 collectives, units, businesses, associations and clubs across the country.
Speaking at this year’s award ceremony, NIHBT Director Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Ha Thanh reported that in 2022, a total of 2,600 blood donation venues have been set up nationwide, mobilising nearly 380,000 units of blood – the highest volume so far.
Of the total, 126,000 units of blood were collected at the NIHBT’s headquarters and five regular blood donation venues in Hanoi.
The donated blood has promptly provided aid to 181 medical facilities in 29 cities and provinces across the country.
