The event was organised in both face-to-face and online format, connecting departments of education and training with universities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho City, and the provinces of Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa, and Son La.
Within the programme, the National Education Union of Vietnam presented gifts worth a total of 1.2 billion VND to teachers and students nationwide to contribute to bringing them a happy Tet.
Participating teachers and educational managers at the event shared their memories about the year 2021, which was a difficult year for the whole country and the educational sector in particular.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed many unprecedented difficulties and challenges for the educational sector.
In 2021, the entirety of educational staff and teachers exerted tremendous efforts to overcome difficulties to guide their students to attend televised and online lessons while making appropriate adaptations to maintain quality, he said.
He highly appreciated efforts and contributions of teachers and took the occasion to send them best wishes for health and a happy new year.
He expressed his hope that the teachers continue to nurture their enthusiasm for the teaching career as well as to promote creativity and innovations in their jobs.
