"Everyone contributes what they have: those with labor contribute labor, those with resources contribute resources, those with more give more, and those with less give less." - These were the words of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhas he launched a nationwide movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing across the country from now until 2025.
The movement aims to mobilize private funding in combination with state resources, to accomplish three major tasks: providing housing support for those who contributed to the revolution; supporting housing under national target programs; and eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing for families not included in the first two groups.
In response to the movement, many new initiatives have been implemented in the spirit of "the good leaves protect the torn ones." Over the years, millions of households have been able to settle down thanks to National Target Programs and housing support programs for those who contributed to the revolution, financed from the state budget. The elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is not only a key policy of the Party and the State but also a regular political task of the Party Committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and other organizations. It also reflects the compassion of businesses, organizations, and individuals.
Through joint efforts and solidarity, most citizens now have solid homes, but there are still hundreds of thousands of families living in makeshift, deteriorating houses. This has left many people wondering: "How can we provide a warm home for our fellow citizens?"
In response to the nationwide movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the live television program "A Home for My People," produced by Vietnam Television, will be broadcast live at 8:10 PM on October 5th on VTV1. Through real-life images and stories from different regions across the country, the program aims to call for collective support and unity to achieve the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by the end of 2025.
During the program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will launch a 450-day campaign, from now until December 31, 2025, with the goal of eliminating hundreds of thousands of temporary houses. The aim is for all citizens to live in "three-solid" homes – solid roofs, solid foundations, and solid walls. This is a beautiful yet challenging aspiration that can only be achieved with the collective efforts and contributions of the entire society.
Tune in today (October 5) to watch "A Home for My People," broadcast live on VTV1 at 8:10 PM today (October 5) and streamed online at VTV Online!
