These united efforts had helped maintain a stable and peaceful domestic environment and speed up international integration, enabling the country to enter the next phase of development with bright prospects, he said.
He said the course of globalisation and ongoing international integration would offer new challenges and opportunities.
The country still had a lot to do in order to progress and protect its citizens, as done by previous generations, for a better future, the president said.
He called on Vietnamese people to press ahead and promote their brainpower, strength, cultural traditions and patriotism, besides their unyielding spirit to seize upcoming opportunities and surmount all hurdles. This will help them to move toward prosperity, democracy, justice and civilisation.
The president extended his best wishes to the people and the country.
