VTV.vn - Results from archaeological research at The Thang Long Royal Citadel are expected to be announced on Dec 14.

The Thang Long Royal Citadel was once Vietnam’s political and cultural centre and a key hub for the cultural and historical identity of Vietnamese people in the Red River Delta.

However, one of the challenges in preserving the Thang Long Royal Citadel is the overlapping layers of artefacts from different periods. Three or four layers of remains date back to different dynasties below Thang Long Royal Citadel.

As a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the preservation of the Thang Long Royal Citadel need to take into consideration the regulations stipulated in the World Heritage Convention.
