Colonel Ngo Minh Thuan, General Director of Saigon New Port Corporation, said that each shift of over 1,100 workers are working at the port during the Tet 2024 to serve business activities.
About 7,500 TEUs, equivalent to 105,000 tonnes of goods, were handed on the evening of February 9.
The volume of containers through ports managed by Saigon New Port reached 9.75 million TEUs in 2023, equivalent to nearly 140 million tonnes of goods, up nearly 1% and accounting for 56.8% of the country’s total container throughput and 89.5% of the throughput in Ho Chi Minh City.
Saigon Newport Corporation’s tax revenue from goods handled at Tan Cang-Cat Lai Port totalled nearly 71 trillion VND, contributing about 16% to the city’s total budget revenue.
