In the meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the politicians discussed ways to increase two-way trade to meet the goal of 10 billion USD. The two countries will work closely in conducting the declaration on joint vision on defence co-operation for the 2017-2022 period. The two PMs also pledged to work closely at upcoming ASEAN meetings to contribute to strengthening intra-bloc solidarity and the grouping's central role in the region.
Also on the same day, Prime Minister Phuc met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen At the meeting, the two sides agreed to direct ministries and sectors to effectively implement agreements reached during the ninth Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Summit in Siem Reap, Cambodia in November 2016. They will work together to prepare for the 10th summit of the three countries in Hanoi in March. The two PMs also declared to coordinate closely at coming ASEAN meetings, for peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region.
