The ceremony also saw the presence of former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong, and Politburo member and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilisation Truong Thi Mai, among other seniors officials.
The northern province of Vinh Phuc has become one of the leading provinces in Vietnam in terms of economic growth, budget collection and foreign investment attraction.
The province’s economic scale has been constantly expanding and has increased 60.5 times compared to that of 1997.The average GDP per capita is VND102.5 million, 47 times higher than in 1950. Vinh Phuc is also one of the five provinces posting the highest budget collections.
At the ceremony, PM Phuc presented the Labour Order (first class) to the authorities and people of Vinh Phuc province in recognition of the province’s achievements over the past 70 years.
The PM expressed his belief that with the 70-year tradition, Vinh Phuc province will continue to successfully fulfill its set targets to become one of the most prosperous provinces in North Vietnam.
Earlier, on the same day, PM Phuc launched a tree-planting festival in Vinh Yen c ity.
