Phase 3 of Nanocovax clinical trials begin

As many as 4000 volunteers are participating in this current batch. Before being given the jab, all volunteers were screened to make sure they were negative for SaRS-Cov-2.

Volunteers have been divided into groups to receive 25mcg dose and one placebo in the ratio of 2:1. After the injection, each person is given an ID, which is installed on their phone, to monitor their health and be examined by medical staff. It is expected that by August 15, volunteers will get their second dose.

Nano Covax has been developed by the Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC since May 2020. The first-phase trials began on December 18, 2020 while the second phase on February 26 this year, and the third on June 11.

Vietnam also has several other candidate vaccines under development.
