The Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Finance review fuel prices every 15 days to adjust the prices in accordance with fluctuations on the world market.
The ceiling price for E5 bio-petrol will be maintained at VND18,340 per litre, and that for diesel oil 0.05S at VND15,716 per litre, and for kerosene at VND14,560 per litre.
The two ministries said the prices for RON 92 petrol, which is the base for producing E5 petrol, saw little change in the 15-day period prior to March 8.
Meanwhile, the cost of ethanol E100 which is used to produce E5 petrol has gone up by almost VND1,200 per litre compared to a year ago.
In the previous adjustment on February 21, the price of RON 95 petrol declined by VND400 per litre, the first reduction in petrol prices in 2018. It was also the first time that the ceiling price of RON 95 petrol had been announced as consumers no longer have access to RON 92 petrol since January 2018.
