In the first four month of this year, export revenue increased 2.1 per cent to reach 521 million USD. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, exported pepper reached 1.24 billion USD in revenue at nearly 9,500 USD per tonne.
Since 2011, Vietnam’s pepper export has maintained its top position in the world market. By 2014, Vietnam had exported pepper to 100 countries and territories. However, the country’s pepper industry still receives complaints from European countries in terms of quality control issues and excessive use of pesticides.
