The agreement aims to diversify Vietnam's technological products to serve the regional market as well as to help the country become a global producer. According to the agreement, from February 22, VNPT is allowed to use thousands of Qualcomm's patents for mobile phone communications technologies, such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), to study and produce new technological products. The agreement gave the company a chance to develop high quality products, such as smart phones, Wifi, 3G, 4G, LTE, and Internet of Things (IoT) products to help the company keep pace with the fourth industrial revolution.
