Party & government leaders welcome high-level Chinese delegation

VTV.vn - A high-level Chinese Party delegation led by Politburo Standing Committee member and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli is currently on a visit to Vietnam.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and State President Truong Tan Sang met with the delegation this Friday.

In a reception for the high-level Chinese Party delegation, Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong said the Communist Party of Vietnam, state and people always attach importance to developing the comprehensive strategic co-operative ties between the two countries. He stressed that the two sides should strictly carry out common perceptions reached by their parties and state leaders, and deal with existing issues in the interest of regional peace, stability and collaboration.

Vice Premier Gaoli affirmed the Chinese side placed special importance on the traditional amity and all-faceted co-operation with Vietnam, noting that China is willing to work with Vietnam towards the fundamental and long-term benefits of the two peoples.

Meeting Vice Premier Gaoli on the same day, State President Truong Tan Sang said the visit was of great significance as the countries mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations. He noted that to strengthen bilateral ties amidst current global and regional complicated situations, the two nations must bolster their political trust on the basis of strict adherence to their high-ranking agreements.

The Chinese guest said his visit was intended at working with the Vietnamese government to implement the agreements reached by the countries.

With regard to sea-related matters, the two sides agreed to not expand disputes or escalate tensions, properly settle disagreements, and co-operate in less sensitive aspects at sea so as to ensure the stable and long-term development of the China-Vietnam relations.
