During the session, members of the Party Central Committee are expected to discuss the socio-economic and financial-budgetary situation in 2017 and draft a socio-economic development plan and financial-budgetary estimates for next year.
They are also set to look into healthcare and population problems, the reform of public service institutions, organising a lean and effective political system and other important matters.
In his speech, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said the meeting’s agenda covers several fundamental issues relevant to socio-economic development and the reform of politics and economic growth in line with the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress last year.
He asked members of the Party Central Committee to show responsibility in finalising reports, resolutions and conclusions of the committee and making decisions about major issues.
