Leaves, hay and straw, leftovers from every harvest are often burned. However, now they can be used to make green paper, thanks to a 4th year student from Hue University of Sciences.
“In my hometown, there's a lot of waste after each harvest. They mostly burn it and it affects the environment badly. I thought we could try to make use of the waste and create other useful stuff”, said Dang Thi Ngoc Anh - student of Hue University of Sciences.
Ngoc Anh's project was one of the five winners of the Hue Creative Start-up competition 2016. She has been working on it for 5 years. Her hard work paid off as many companies are interested in her paper.
The project will expand by teaching the methods to farmers so they can do it themselves and make money for their families. The project is considered practical.
“For a student, she has such great passion and research abilities. I believe she will succeed if she's patient and with the help of investors”, said Cung Trong Cuong – Principal of Hue Industrial College.
Vietnam is currently stepping encouragement for young and creative businesses. Those efforts are now showing results and promise even more bright ideas like Ngoc Anh's in the future.
