Another proposed option is to scrap the annual overtime limit entirely, but restrict employees to a daily cap of 12 hours. This proposal follows businesses’ campaigning and evidence that overtime currently has to account for up to a third of employee earnings. The proposal will be submitted to National Assembly Standing Committee in March. The proposed amendment would be submitted to the National Assembly in April if agreed.
