Over 1.3 trillion VND allocated to overcome consequences of natural disasters in 2021

VTV.vn - Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai has signed Decision No.2266/QD-TTg dated on December 31, 2021, for the urgent support of localities to overcome consequences of natural disasters in 2021.

Under the decision, 1.35 trillion VND from the central budget reserve 2021, will be allocated to 15 localities, including Nghe An (150 billion VND), Ha Tinh (30 billion VND), Quang Binh (60 billion VND), Quang Tri (80 billion VND), Thua Thien Hue (60 billion VND), Quang Nam (120 billion VND), Quang Ngai (160 billion VND), Binh Dinh (150 billion VND), Phu Yen (160 billion VND), Khanh Hoa (100 billion VND), Kon Tum (30 billion VND), Dak Lak (50 billion VND), Dak Nong (30 billion VND), Ninh Thuan (80 billion VND) and An Giang (90 billion VND).

The People’s Committees from the provinces were asked to review essential infrastructure projects that were severely damaged by natural disasters, storms and floods, as well as allocate capital levels for each project in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Budget, the Law on Public Investment and relevant legal documents.

The People’s Committees are responsible for mobilising local resources, along with the support from the central budget, to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

Hanoi municipal People’s Committee has issued a plan to carry out the project on “Enhancing community awareness and community-based disaster risk management” for the 2021-2025 period.

Accordingly, the city will focus on completing mechanisms, policies and guiding documents to strengthen community awareness and community-based disaster risk management, as well as improve the capacity for natural disaster prevention and control forces and authorities at all levels.

During this period, the city is expected to allocate about 40 billion VND for training activities, disaster risk assessment, drills and propaganda for natural disaster prevention and control.
