Over 1,800 entries submitted to Vietnam’s national press awards

The preliminary assessment round began on April 22 and the winners are expected to be announced at an awards ceremony on June 21, Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day.

This is the second consecutive year that the award organisers have received entries from all 63 provincial journalists associations, which demonstrates the appeal of the awards.

A jury council for the preliminary judgment has been established with a membership of 71, who are experienced and renowned journalists from central media agencies as well as those from Hanoi and a number of other provinces and cities.

Prizes will be awarded in 11 categories for print newspaper, radio and television programmes, online newspaper, and press photos.

Last year, Nhan Dan Newspaper won one A prize, one B prize and five C prizes. The top prize went to Nguyen Van Bac for a series of articles on the selection of government officials through the case of Trinh Xuan Thanh.
