VTV.vn - As many as 64 prominent youths with disabilities were honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on Monday.

Organised by the Vietnam Youth Federation Central Committee and the National Committee on Persons with Disabilities, the event aimed to call for further support for youths with disabilities and develop suitable and sustainable programs that will facilitate their integration into society.

Though they come from different backgrounds, they all have one thing in common: the refusal to accept the fate of a disadvantaged person and their success in overcoming barriers to contribute to society. They've also inspired and motivated many other disadvantaged people and young people across the country.

The honourees were given saving books worth 10 million VND (430 USD) and other gifts. Speaking at the event, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung called on sectors, organisations and individuals to support this group and work together to improve their social welfare.
